Ingredients
200g of flour 00
100g butter (at room temperature)
100 g of sugar
1 whole egg
1/2 teaspoon of pastry yeast
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
1 pinch of salt
Preparation
1. Preparing the butter and sugar compound
In a large bowl, mix shredded butter with sugar until you get a soft and slightly lumpy cream. You can use a fork or your hands to make this passage easier for.
2. Adding the other ingredients
Add egg, vanilla essence, flour, yeast and salt. Start kneading everything with your hands until you get a homogeneous compound.
3. Resting the dough
Form a ball with the dough, wrap it in transparent film and let it rest in the fridge for about 30 minutes. This trick will help make cookies more flaky .
4. Spreading and shaping cookies
After resting, spread the dough on a floured sheet with a mattress, creating a puff of about 3-5 mm thick. Use stencils to create your favorite shapes!
5. Baking some cookies
Arrange the biscuits on a pan covered with baking paper. Recompact and spread the cutouts again until the dough runs out. Bake in a preheated oven to 180°C for 10-12 minutes or until slightly golden brown.
6. Serving
Bake the biscuits and let them cool completely before serving with a nice cup of tea or hot chocolate!
Tips & Tricks
Too sticky dough? : Add some flour to make it easier.
Aromi: try also the zest of lemon or grated orange for a touch of freshness .
