Ingredients
For the Meatloaf:
2 lbs (900g) ground beef
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 large egg
1/4 cup milk
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Topping:
1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 cup mushrooms, thinly sliced
1 small onion, diced
2 tbsp butter
Optional:
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Prepare the Meatloaf
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Mix until evenly combined and press the mixture into the prepared loaf pan.
Bake the Meatloaf
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
Prepare the Topping
While the meatloaf bakes, melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté mushrooms and onions until golden brown.
Cook bacon until crispy, then crumble into small pieces.
Top the Meatloaf
Remove the meatloaf from the oven after 45 minutes. Spread the sautéed mushrooms and onions over the top, followed by the shredded Swiss cheese and crumbled bacon.
Finish Baking
Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve
Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
