Janet’s Decadent Banana Bread

Ingredients

3 ripe bananas, mashed

1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted

3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar

1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

1/2 cup (120ml) sour cream or Greek yogurt

1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips or chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch (23×13 cm) loaf pan.

In a large bowl, whisk together the mashed bananas and melted butter.

Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

Fold in the sour cream (or Greek yogurt) and chocolate chips/nuts if using.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.

Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
