Crochet Pattern — Floral Letter “U”
This is an original adapted pattern based on the reference image, not the original creator’s exact pattern.
Materials
- Cream/ivory yarn
- Blush pink yarn
- Dusty rose yarn
- Beige yarn
- Taupe yarn
- Small amount of green yarn
- 2–2.5 mm crochet hook
- Strong cardboard or foam board for the U-shaped base
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Small pearl beads
- Fabric glue or strong craft glue
- Optional stuffing

4. U-Shaped Base
Cut a sturdy U-shaped base from cardboard or foam board.
For a crochet-covered base, make a chain long enough to follow the complete U shape.
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and across.
Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc across.
Rows 3–8: repeat Row 2 until the strip is wide enough to cover the base.
Wrap the crochet strip around the U-shaped form and sew it securely on the back.
5. Large Crochet Rose
Make 4–5 large roses in cream and ivory.
Rnd 1: MR, 6 sc. (6)
Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
Rnd 3: sc, inc around. (18)
Rnd 4: 2 sc, inc around. (24)
Row 5: ch 3, 2 dc in same stitch, sl st in next stitch; repeat around.
FO with a long tail.
Roll the crocheted strip tightly from one end toward the other to form a spiral rose. Sew the bottom securely.
6. Medium Flowers
Make approximately 15–20 flowers in blush, pink, cream, beige, and taupe.
Rnd 1: MR, 6 sc. (6)
Rnd 2: sl st, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, sl st in each stitch around, creating 6 petals.
FO and sew the center closed.
Add a small pearl to the middle of selected flowers.
7. Small Flowers
Make approximately 20–30 tiny flowers.
Rnd 1: MR, 5 sc. (5)
Rnd 2: ch 2, 2 hdc, ch 2, sl st in each stitch around.
FO.
Sew a tiny pearl or small crochet center into selected flowers.
8. Mini Crochet Rosettes
Make several tiny rosettes in dusty rose and beige.
Row 1: ch 20.
Row 2: starting in 2nd ch, 3 dc in next stitch, sl st in next stitch across.
FO and roll the strip into a small spiral.
Sew the bottom firmly to hold the rosette shape.
9. Small Leaves
Using green yarn:
Rnd 1: ch 7.
Starting in 2nd ch: sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc, 3 sc in the final chain.
Continue along the opposite side: sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc.
FO and sew between selected flowers.
10. Assembly
- Cover the entire U-shaped base with the crochet fabric.
- Position the large cream roses around the upper corners, sides, and lower curve.
- Add the medium flowers around the roses.
- Fill empty spaces with small flowers and mini rosettes.
- Mix the colors naturally rather than keeping each color in one area.
- Add pearl centers to selected flowers.
- Add small green leaves between a few flowers.
- Make sure the flowers overlap slightly so there are very few visible gaps.
- Secure every flower firmly to the U-shaped base from the back.
Finishing
Check the back and trim all loose yarn ends. If desired, add a small hanging loop to the top of the U so it can be displayed on a wall, door, or craft room.
