Cloverleaf Dinner Rolls
Ingredients

3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

1 cup warm milk (110°F / 43°C)

1/4 cup granulated sugar
-
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg, room temperature

1 teaspoon salt
-
Extra melted butter for brushing
Instructions

Activate the yeast
In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy. -
Make the dough
Add melted butter, egg, salt, and 2 cups flour. Mix well.
Gradually add remaining flour until a soft dough forms. -
Knead & rise
Knead on a floured surface 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour or until doubled. -
Shape cloverleaf rolls
Punch down dough. Divide into 36 small balls.
Grease a muffin tin and place 3 balls per cup.
Brush lightly with melted butter. -
Second rise
Cover and let rise 30–40 minutes until puffy. -
Bake
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes, until golden brown. -
Finish
Brush tops with melted butter and serve warm.
Tips

For extra softness, replace 1/2 cup milk with heavy cream.

Sprinkle tops with flaky salt or herbs before baking.
