Cherry Pie Iced Tea

Ingredients:

 

4 black tea bags

4 cups water (boiling)

1 cup cherry juice (unsweetened or low sugar)

1/3 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional, for pie flavor)

1 cup frozen cherries or fresh pitted cherries

Ice, for serving

Fresh cherries and mint, for garnish

 

Directions:

 

Steep tea bags in 4 cups boiling water for 5–7 minutes. Remove tea bags and let the tea cool.

 

In a pitcher, combine cherry juice, sugar, vanilla extract, and almond extract (if using). Stir until sugar dissolves.

 

Add brewed tea to the pitcher and stir well.

 

Chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

 

When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice and frozen cherries, then pour the tea over.

 

Garnish with fresh cherries and mint leaves if desired.

Tips:

Use frozen cherries in place of ice cubes, they keep the drink cold and add flavor!

Almond extract adds that nostalgic cherry pie aroma, just a little goes a long way.
