Chili Cheese Dog Bake Recipe

Ingredients:

For the chili:

1 lb (450g) ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce

1 (10 oz) can diced tomatoes with green chilies

1 tbsp chili powder

1 tsp cumin

½ tsp smoked paprika

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp black pepper

☑️For the bake:

8 hot dogs

8 hot dog buns (or low-carb/keto-friendly buns)

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

2 tbsp chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions:

Step 1: Make the Chili

1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.

2. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened.

3. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes with green chilies, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

4. Simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

Step 2: Assemble the Bake

5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

6. Arrange hot dog buns in a greased baking dish. Place one hot dog inside each bun.

7. Spoon the chili evenly over the hot dogs.

8. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the top.

Step 3: Bake

9. Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

10. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped green onions.

Step 4: Serve & Enjoy!

11. Serve hot and enjoy with a side of coleslaw, fries, or a fresh salad.
