Cinnamon Roll Apple “Lasagna”

 

Ingredients

 

For the Apple Filling

 

4 cups peeled, diced apples (about 4 medium apples)

 

½ cup granulated sugar

 

1 tablespoon cornstarch

 

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

 

For the Layers

 

2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls (with icing)

 

½ cup brown sugar

 

2 tablespoons butter, melted

 

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

 

Optional: caramel sauce for topping

 

Instructions

 

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.

 

2. Prepare the apple filling: In a bowl, mix diced apples, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon until well coated. Set aside.

 

3. Flatten cinnamon rolls: Separate the cinnamon rolls and flatten each one with your hands or a rolling pin.

 

4. Assemble the lasagna:

 

Place a single layer of flattened cinnamon rolls on the bottom of the dish.

 

Spread half of the apple mixture over the cinnamon rolls.

 

Drizzle with a bit of brown sugar and melted butter.

 

Add another layer of flattened cinnamon rolls.

 

Repeat with the remaining apples and top with a final layer of cinnamon rolls.

 

5. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.

 

6. Cool slightly, then drizzle with reserved icing and optional caramel sauce.
