Honey Butter Sweet Alabama Pecan Bread

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup honey

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup sour cream

1 cup chopped pecans

1 tablespoon butter (for greasing the pan)

For the Honey Butter Glaze:

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 tablespoons honey

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Directions:

Prepare the Oven and Pan:Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.

Mix the Dry Ingredients:In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Cream the Butter and Sugar:In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, honey, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. This should take about 3-4 minutes.

Add the Eggs and Vanilla:Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine the Wet and Dry Ingredients:Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the sour cream. Begin and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Fold in the Pecans:Gently fold in the chopped pecans, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Bake the Bread:Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Prepare the Honey Butter Glaze:While the bread is baking, prepare the glaze by melting the butter and mixing it with honey and cinnamon (if using).

Glaze the Bread:Once the bread is out of the oven and slightly cooled, brush the honey butter glaze over the top of the bread. Allow it to soak in and add a deliciously sweet shine.

Serve and Enjoy:Let the bread cool completely before slicing. Serve as a sweet breakfast or snack!
