Savory Puff Pastry with Minced Meat and Cheese

Ingredients:

1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)

250g minced meat (beef or lamb)

1 small onion (finely chopped)

1 clove garlic (minced)

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon dried oregano (optional)

½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)

1 egg (for egg wash)

1 tablespoon oil (for cooking)

Sesame seeds or black seeds (for topping, optional)

Instructions:

Prepare the Filling:

Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until soft.

Add the minced meat, salt, black pepper, paprika, and oregano. Cook until the meat is fully browned.

Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Mix in the shredded cheese.

Prepare the Pastry:

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.

Cut it into squares or rectangles, depending on your desired size.

Assemble:

Place a spoonful of the meat and cheese mixture in the center of each pastry piece.

Fold the pastry over the filling and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.

Bake:

Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

Sprinkle sesame seeds or black seeds if desired.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden and crispy.

Serve:

Let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
