These flaky, twisted pastries are filled with a delicious mix of cheese, herbs, and cured meat—perfect for brunch, parties, or cozy snacks. Their elegant shape and golden finish make them irresistible.

 

🧀 Ingredients (makes ~12 twists)

 

For the filling:

– 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar

– ½ cup diced cooked bacon or ham

– ¼ cup cream cheese

– 2 tablespoons chopped parsley or chives

– Salt and pepper to taste

 

For the pastry:

– 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)

– 1 egg (for egg wash)

– Optional: sesame seeds or grated Parmesan for topping

1. Prepare the filling:

– In a bowl, mix shredded cheese, bacon/ham, cream cheese, herbs, salt, and pepper until well combined.

 

2. Shape the twists:

– Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle.

– Spread the filling evenly over half the pastry, then fold the other half over to cover.

– Cut into strips (~2 cm wide), then twist each strip gently to reveal the filling.

 

3. Bake:

– Place twists on a parchment-lined baking tray.

– Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds or Parmesan if desired.

– Bake at 200°C (390°F) for 15–20 minutes or until golden and puffed.

 

4. Serve:

– Garnish with extra herbs and serve warm or at room temperature.
