1. Outer Sage-Green Petals
Make 12–14 petals.
Rnd 1: MR, 6 sc into ring. (6)
Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
Rnd 3: sc, inc around. (18)
Rnd 4: 2 sc, inc around. (24)
Rnd 5: 3 sc, inc around. (30)
Rnd 6: sc around. (30)
Fold the piece slightly at the bottom and sew the lower edges together to create the pointed oval petal shape.
FO and leave a long tail for sewing.
Repeat until you have enough green petals to form the complete outer circle.
2. Beige Petals
Make 10–12 petals.
Rnd 1: MR, 6 sc. (6)
Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
Rnd 3: sc, inc around. (18)
Rnd 4: 2 sc, inc around. (24)
Rnd 5: 3 sc, inc around. (30)
Rnd 6: sc around. (30)
Fold the bottom slightly and stitch it together to create the dimensional petal.
Make approximately half of these petals in beige and half in cream.
3. Dusty-Rose Inner Petals
Make 8–10 petals.
Rnd 1: MR, 6 sc. (6)
Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
Rnd 3: sc, inc around. (18)
Rnd 4: 2 sc, inc around. (24)
Rnd 5: 3 sc, inc around. (30)
Rnd 6: sc around. (30)
FO and shape each petal into a slightly curved oval.
4. Small Cream Center Flower
Rnd 1: MR, 6 sc. (6)
Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
Rnd 3: sc, inc around. (18)
Rnd 4: sc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2, sc in the next stitch; repeat around to create small petals.
FO.
Make another slightly larger cream flower using the same idea, then place the smaller flower on top of the larger one.
5. Center Circle
With cream yarn:
Rnd 1: MR, 6 sc. (6)
Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
Rnd 3: sc, inc around. (18)
Rnd 4: sc around. (18)
Slightly stuff if desired, then sew it into the middle of the small flower.
For the raised center texture, work a few small concentric rounds or surface slip stitches around the center.
6. Assembly
- Arrange the sage-green petals in a large circle, overlapping each petal slightly.
- Sew the bottom of each petal securely to a circular crochet backing.
- Add the cream and beige petals over the green layer.
- Add the dusty-rose petals toward the center, alternating them with cream/beige petals.
- Sew the layered petals firmly while keeping their upper sections loose so they remain dimensional.
- Attach the large cream flower in the center.
- Sew the smaller cream flower on top.
- Add the textured center circle.
7. Hanging Loop
At the top of the backing, attach a small wooden ring or crochet loop.
For a crochet loop:
ch 15–20, sl st back into the starting point, then secure the loop firmly to the back.
Tip: Use slightly thicker yarn for this project so the petals hold their shape and the flower has the same raised, dimensional appearance as the reference.
