Prep Time: 30 mins | Chill Time: 4 hours (or overnight) | Total Time: 4 hours 30 mins | Servings: 12-15
Ingredients
For the Crust Layer:
-
2 cups crushed golden Oreos (or vanilla wafers/graham crackers)
-
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
-
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
For the Cream Cheese Layer:
-
8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
-
½ cup granulated sugar
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
1 cup heavy whipping cream (or 8 oz Cool Whip, thawed)
For the Strawberry Pudding Layer:
-
2 boxes (3.4 oz each) instant strawberry pudding mix
-
2¾ cups cold milk
-
1 cup diced fresh strawberries
For the Topping:
-
8 oz Cool Whip (or homemade whipped cream), thawed
-
Fresh strawberries for garnish (sliced or whole)
-
Optional: strawberry sauce, white chocolate shavings, or crushed Oreos
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Crust
In a medium bowl, combine the crushed golden Oreos, melted butter, and sugar. Mix until the texture resembles wet sand.
Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Use the bottom of a measuring cup or glass to press it down evenly and tightly.
Place the crust in the freezer to set while you prepare the next layers.
Step 2: Make the Cream Cheese Layer
In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy (about 2 minutes).
In a separate cold bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form (about 3-4 minutes using a hand mixer or stand mixer). If using Cool Whip, skip this step and fold in 1 cup of thawed Cool Whip instead.
Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined and fluffy.
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the chilled crust. Smooth with a spatula. Return to the refrigerator.
Step 3: Make the Strawberry Pudding Layer
In a large bowl, whisk together the two boxes of strawberry pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes until thickened.
Fold in the diced fresh strawberries.
Gently spread the strawberry pudding over the cream cheese layer. Smooth evenly.
Step 4: Add the Topping
Spread the thawed Cool Whip (or additional homemade whipped cream) evenly over the strawberry pudding layer.
Step 5: Garnish
Top with fresh strawberry slices, whole strawberries, white chocolate shavings, or crushed golden Oreos.
Step 6: Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap or foil. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) to allow the layers to set properly.
Step 7: Serve
Slice into squares and serve cold. Use a sharp knife and wipe it clean between cuts for neat slices.
